Nutrition Assessment: A variety of data are collected to perform the nutrition assessment.
- Food and nutrition-related history: food intake, herbal and vitamin/mineral supplements, food and nutrition knowledge/skill, beliefs and attitudes, physical activity
- Anthropometric measurements: weight, height, body mass index, body compartment estimates (waist circumference, body fat %)
- Biochemical data: electrolyte and renal profile, lipid profile, glucose profile
- Nutrition-focused physical findings: overall appearance, digestive system (ability to chew and swallow foods and liquids), and vital signs (blood pressure)
- Patient history: alcohol/tobacco use, healthy history, surgery, social history
